Are you a webmaster and do you own multiple domains? Chances are you could be taking advantage of what thousands of people are already doing. Reseller hosting packages are a great way to profit and get your web hosting for a reduced rate or even free. Even if you have one site you could probably still take advantage of reseller hosting. If you are an entrepreneur this article is for you!

We all know that web hosting can really add up with all the software upgrades, maintenance, ect. Thankfully there are so many hosting packages offered today that nearly anyone on any budget can afford hosting. For starters there is shared hosting, vps, dedicated, and reseller hosting. One of the toughest decisions when choosing host is “what package should I choose?”

As stated there are four major types of hosting, but I do want to stick to the subject and talk about reseller hosting. So how does it work? Grab a cup of coffee because I am about to explain it to you.

Ok, the first thing you will do when you have a reseller hosting account is have an alloted amount of space. You can divide it up anyway you choose, to meet your clients needs. Let’s say your buddy Larry needs 1 GB of space for his auto site and then Bobby needs 25 MB of space for his TV repair site. You have the added flexibility to divide the amount of space they will need and set a price for them to pay monthly. You are simply the middleman and have full control over all your settings.

This is good for you and both your client, because you can usually sell them hosting plans for much cheaper than if they went somewhere else and got their own shared or VPS account. Everyone likes saving money right? However, space is not the only thing you can divide up. You can set caps on bandwidth, email accounts, ect. It is really a great way for a business owner or just an entrepreneur to get started or make a little added residual income.

Also, one more little tidbit I would like to cover is that your clients will usually have 24/7 support that your web hosting provider will deal with directly. You are not liable to answer their questions and perform maintenance, because your hosting provider will do all that for you.
