Find out more about a Sports Social Network at http://www.sportsviews.comThe world has embraced recently into all things social media, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter are all hugely popular sites that users log into regularly. It is of no surprise then that certain sectors such as the sports industry have decided to get involved. There are so many dedicated fans to different sports that it seems logical to create a sports social network where all fans can communicate and discuss their favorite sports together.
With the arrival of social network Twitter, it has been found that many celebrities and sportsmen have added themselves and allow for fans to follow their ‘tweets’, creating their own sports social network. These new technologies that we all seem to be embracing adds a new personal level to sporting events, but it may cause controversy within the sports world.
Twitter and its real time feed offers sporting fans over the world to discuss events as they occur and see what the athletes themselves feel about sporting results. An example of how powerful this new form of communication is shown with Lance Armstrong. Recently the athlete put a post on Twitter asking if anybody fancied accompanying him for a cycle ride in Scotland. Little did Lance Armstrong realize that hundreds of cyclists and fans would appear to join him on his ride.
Social networking has become an increasingly important aspect to many people’s daily lives, sports social networks are of no exception either. Sports fans from across the globe enjoy being able to share opinions, updated news and match results across the internet. Not only this but some sports social networks also allow for their users to gain points by betting online to the outcome of games. The points that are available to win can then be collected and transferred into prices, which include tickets to sporting events over the world, an incredible prize to any fan.
Personally myself, I am not a big sports fan, but I know how dedicated sports fans are to their chosen game. I can imagine that I would appreciate being a member of a sports social network if I knew I could get the latest news on my team or sport at the click of a button. The internet is really changing how we communicate and social networking is seems to only be getting bigger. Sharing our interests and dedication to different hobbies online really makes a big world feel that little bit closer.
